Thinque and Symbol Partner to Provide Real-Time Solutions
for Mobile Enterprise Application Users

Alliance will give mobile workers an exceptional combination
of hardware and software solutions for field-based business needs

Los Angeles, Calif.—Jan. 29, 2001—Thinque, the emerging leader in mobile enterprise applications for field force automation, announced today that it will integrate Symbol’s handheld computers with Thinque’s Mobile Solutions Platform™ (MSP) software, providing mobile enterprise solutions for companies with field-based workers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Thinque MSP will be compatible with Symbol’s three handheld devices for field service, proof of delivery and package tracking—respectively, the SPT 1733/34, the PPT 2733/34 and the PDT 753X. In addition, Thinque will join Symbol’s Partner Program.

Thinque MSP provides “anytime, anywhere” connectivity to mobile workers and corporate management. The product utilizes handheld PCs and can run in both wireless and non-wireless mode, enabling information to be collected and transmitted in real-time. Moreover, synchronization can be completed in the field anytime while the wireless connection is in effect, providing instantaneous feedback on critical business information.

The joint Symbol and Thinque solution enables organizations with mobile workers to have visibility into field operations in real-time, ultimately improving customer service and managing exceptions efficiently. By integrating Symbol’s hardware devices with Thinque’s powerful, flexible application software as well as its enterprise synchronization and data warehousing solutions, customers are able to cost-effectively connect mobile workers—and the detailed customer information that they collect—with the rest of the organization.

“We look forward to many years of success with Thinque,” said John Muller, director, business development for Symbol. “Thinque is a recognized leader in developing mobile enterprise applications for several key industries and we’re pleased that they have chosen to partner with us.”

“We are pleased that Thinque MSP, the industry’s most versatile and robust mobile enterprise application, will now be accessible through Symbol’s market-leading handheld devices,” said Rich Love, vice president of business development for Thinque. “With today’s announcement, Thinque reinforces its commitment to field-centric corporations worldwide by continuing to expand product compatibility to a wide range of portable hardware systems.”
