Could Thumbscript(TM) really increase my text entry speed and accuracy? I took my Palm III to the week long Annual Meeting of my medical society. I found that I could easily take notes in lectures with all the medical terminology. Entry was accurate so I didn't have to watch the screen to see what was coming out. Over the week, my text entry got much faster and became automatic. I learned simplify the Thumbscript letters to a straight line between two of the 9 dots. Thumbscript's immediate access to punctuation was a pleasure, too. Now when I need to refer to my conference notes on new treatments, I just use the search function. -- Jeffery Smith, M.D.

A note from Nutshell:

My company, the Nutshell Corporation, makes a range of Reinforced leather cases, holsters and fieldcases for mobile computers, handhelds, Pocket PC and Palm.

We are constantly getting asked for fieldcases for these devices to enable them to be deployed within organizations that are only just starting to get their heads around how they are going to use mobile computing. To my knowledge we are the ONLY company specializing in this field.

We have recently made a carry case for the Compaq Aero 1550 and iPAQ to enable surveyors and field staff to connect and use GPS equipment in the field. We have a ruggedized case to carry a Casio EG-800STD Industrial Cassiopeia and we have an executive notecase that will take either a Casio E125 or an iPAQ for use in professional environments, like hospitals and sales order applications.

Recently we have begun getting inquiries for the new RIM Blackberry devices, so you can see that we are keeping ourselves quite busy. Our intention is to develop a range of cases that will let people use their sensitive electronic devices in EXTREMELY hostile environments. We are interested in letting it be known that we provide this service and these products, and as well as selling directly to customers over the web, we are developing an international reseller network.
