I administer a parking office on a Texas university campus. We register people in the sale of parking permits using their social security number as a control number. We have been doing this for many years and have had legal support to do this. I recently had a customer challange me regarding the use of the SSN saying we should nopt. We also use the SSN for the identification on our university identification cards/key card.
I would like to hear from anyone who uses or does not use the SSN as I do and what the alternatives are. Thank You!
